Lhe Ghana inaugurated Africa's largest solar power plant in October 2015. With a production capacity of 155 MW, the country will thus put an end to the thorny problem of energy dependence from which several African countries suffer.
The project is arguably the most ambitious in Africa in the field of solar energy. 183 hectares of the village of Aiwiaso (western Ghana) are exploited for the installation of the power station. The execution of the Nzema project, estimated at 400 million dollars (approximately 306 million euros), is entrusted to the British "Blue Energy". "Nzema is fully operational in 2015 and has a power of 155 MW, which will make it one of the largest in the world because only three plants have a power greater than this", indicated the English group.
