Foster + Partners, the architect of the Virgin Galactic spaceport, will design the world's first “droneport”, and an African country is hosting the project: Rwanda.
The first droneport, an airport for drones, will be built in Rwanda and operational in 2020. It is the architectural firm Foster + Partners, which notably signed the “flying saucer” from Apple and the first commercial space terminal for Virgin Galactic, who is in charge of the project. This aerodrome will be used for the transport of medical equipment, medicines, food and any other emergency transport, in remote regions of East Africa.
