Lhe 15 member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) have officially called for reparations for the damage caused by slavery, colonization and the slave trade, AFP reports. Launched by the English-speaking states of the region, the initiative targets three former colonial powers: the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands.
Spain and Portugal are not concerned since their former colonies are not part of CARICOM.
