Une civilization which proves incapable of solving the problems which its functioning gives rise to is a decadent civilization. A civilization that chooses to close its eyes to its most crucial problems is a damaged civilization. A civilization which cunning with its principles is a dying civilization.
The fact is that the so-called European civilization, Western civilization, as shaped by two centuries of bourgeois rule, is incapable of solving the two major problems to which its existence gave birth: the problem of the proletariat and the colonial problem; that, referred to the bar of reason as to the bar of conscience, that Europe is powerless to justify itself; and that, more and more, it takes refuge in a hypocrisy all the more odious that it has less and less chance of deceiving.
Europe is indefensible.
