Lhe traditions of the Dravidian people say that this people would have arrived in India around -9.500 after having partly escaped a cataclysm which would have engulfed their continent located in the South of India and in the East of Madagascar, that is to say in Indian Ocean. New discoveries now trace the Indus civilization back to around -7.500, and the discovery of new sites could drag us to more distant dates. This places the Dravidians in an extremely ancient context and suggests that the arrival date of -9.500 could be a certain fact. The Dravidians would therefore be the survivors of a cataclysm which, around 9.500 would have engulfed their lands in the Indian Ocean. (Still under study)
A sophisticated civilization It is known that the Dravidians, great navigators have spread to the Mediterranean basin. The excavations produced evidence of commerce with Mesopotamia. Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets describe transactions with Dravidian merchants who exported precious metals, pearls, ivory, worked copper, ceramics and glassware. These navigators went back to the ports of Arabia by the Red Sea
