A great American human rights activist, Angela Davis was there in Nantes, the former first French slave port, to commemorate the abolition of slavery."I appreciate that the city of Nantes did not try to hide the role it played during this period of history"said Professor Davis, who is currently teaching at the University of Santa Cruz, California, from the outset.
