Dhe sociologists from the University of Frankfurt am Main participate in national research programs on the suppression of uprisings and refoulement of refugees. These projects, which receive millions of euros from the German Ministry of Research and Culture, are called "civil security research" and relate, among other things, to "cultural and social conflicts" that "the possible arrival in mass of migrants ”in western metropolises. Under the title “Evolving Security Culture”, we further investigate the extent to which the German population approves of repressive and surveillance measures designed to counter aggressions perpetrated by internal enemies. At the same time, “peace researchers” from Frankfurt are developing strategies intended to increase the effectiveness of Western military interventions in countries of the South. The corpus of this research is completed by a reflection on the questions of “communication on safety.” A "central" task in the "approach to terrorism, pandemics, military interventions abroad or migration" would be "to wrap complex security policy data into clear and simple messages".
Global conflicts for resource allocation
The Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University of Frankfurt announces that its center of excellence in social sciences “Formation of Normative Ordinances” has recently moved into a new building (cost: 11 million euros) on the Frankfurt Westend campus. This construction, financed half by the land (region) and the other by the State, integrates “remarkably in the whole” because of the design of its facade, declared the minister of Finance of the land of Hesse, Luise Hölscher, on the occasion of the festivities of its inauguration. "The whole" referred to by Hölscher is dominated by the building which once housed the administration of the firm IG-Farben, this chemical industry trust which, under the Nazi regime, had risen to one of the first global places. This company, which had a personal concentration camp in Auschwitz, is responsible both for the looting of the countries occupied by Germany during the Second World War and for the massive exploitation of forced laborers until exhaustion. The “Formation of Normative Ordinances” center of excellence, now based on the IG-Farben campus, analyzes (according to its self-promotion) the “global conflicts for the distribution of resources” that climate change would allegedly cause in the case “ likely where massive migrations would begin in the direction of more favored climatic zones. »
