After having belonged to the bible, the book of Enoch was declared heretic in the 3rd century because it developed in detail chapter 6 of the genesis where it is said that some angels rebelled against god and decided to come down to earth to marry the daughters of men.
The Book of Enoch having been destroyed from the 3rd century, it disappeared completely from circulation for 1400 years. Rediscovered in Ethiopia in the 18th century, and translated in the 19th, it was declared again as the work of a forger because of the obvious anachronism of the 80 passages of the New Testament therein.
After 1950: the discovery of the Book of Enoch in the Dead Sea Scrolls changed everything. Dated between 300 and 200 years before our era, it was obviously no longer the work of a forger.
