The first African smartphone is now available in Congo. According to its inventor, Vérone Mankou, it is now possible to obtain this telephone for 85000 CFA francs (nearly 130 euros). It's more than the salary mguaranteed local minimum. But for Verona Mankou, this price remains reasonable. The commercialcialisation of this smartphone, called Elikia (“hope” in Lingala, the national language) started on Friday. “It is available in the stores of Airtel Congo and Warid Congo (two private mobile telephone companies, Editor's note) with which we have signed a contract”, specifies the inventor.
