Sadhguru answers a question about the conflicts within the couple. How come love and marriage often create conflict between people?

Sadhguru: Man and woman are kind of physical opposites. Nature designed us this way so that we could reproduce and the next generation could be born. If it weren't necessary, if storks dropped babies from the sky, we wouldn't need a man and a woman working for future generations. And, if there wasn't a deep sense of compulsion towards the reproductive process, people wouldn't be getting into it. Every cell in your body, including your brain cells, is bound by hormones, forcing you to go in that direction and propelling you there. It takes enormous intelligence to rise above that. Otherwise, we just think that this is life. Until the age of ten or eleven, you didn't even think about it. What people were doing seemed weird. But suddenly this new chemical took hold of the body, and now it's all an absolute reality.

You have been drugged and chemically sabotaged by nature to achieve its own purpose of reproduction, continuation and perpetuation of the species. Once this has taken place, one way or another, the man and the woman are forced to come together. Or in other words, once this compulsion arises, the mind naturally kicks in that direction to see how to get the most out of it.
