Lhe oldest known civilization in the Americas was Olmec, and it was of black Africoid origin and flourished over a period of 5000 years. This civilization existed in America before the arrival of the Redskins. In fact, by the time Europeans arrived in Central and South America in the 15th century, descendants of the Black Olmecs were numerous throughout this region, especially Mexico. In this regard, the testimony of Nicolas Leon is instructive about how ancient the African presence was in America. In fact, he says black people were the original inhabitants of Mexico City. “The disappearance of the original negroes during the period of the Spanish conquest and the memories of them in the oldest traditions make us believe that the blacks were the first inhabitants of Mexico”. (Historia General De Mexico, Mexico, 1919).
Riva-Palacio, a Mexican scholar insists on this point: It is indisputable that, in very ancient times Mexicans recall a Negro god, Ixlilton, which means black face.
The Black Olmec Africoids were linked to the civilization of the Nile Valley of Africa (Dr Diop, Nations Nègres et Culture,, p. 116, Présence Africaine, Paris, 1955).
The descendants of the Olmecs who were living in America at the time of Columbus' arrival were Black Wasschitaw from Mississippi, Black Mojave from California, and Jamassee from Georgia.
The Olmec civilization was known for its high degree of mathematics, pyramids and the calendar. Scientists today say the Olmec Calendar was more accurate than the modern Gregorian calendar in use (J. Jackson, Man, God, and Civilization, citing Col. Alexandre Braghine, The Shadow of Atlantis, EP Dutton & Co, New York, 1940; Dr Diop, Nations Nègres et Culture, ibid, p 116).
The enormous stone heads of Olmec deities had an unmistakably African physiognomy, as can easily be seen in the photographs and drawings of these massive sculptures.
Thus, Africa played a role in the development of America in the period before the arrival of Columbus. Around 500 BC or earlier, Africans therefore sailed to America and continued to do so until the time of Columbus.
Dr Wiercinski (1972) (http://en.metapedia.org/wiki/Andrzej_Wiercinski) claims that one of the Olmecs were of African descent. He backs up this claim with skeletal evidence from several Olmec sites where he found black African type skeletons. This skeletal evidence explains the discovery of many African tribes in Mexico and Central America where Christopher Columbus discovered America (de Quatrefages, 1836).
