VHere is a story that is part of that of French royalty and which concerns a black nun who was a full member of the royal family at the time of Louis 14. In October 1664, Queen Marie-Thérèse, wife of the King Louis 14, gave birth to a baby girl “black as ink” (such was the term used by those present at the birth). At the time of this birth, the sovereign Marie-Thérèse had among her pet dwarfs a Moor or more (a term given to black-skinned people from Africa at the time) whom she had received as a gift to the t many times in France, mores were treated as slaves.
The queen's father named Nabo spent whole days distracting her and making her laugh. The king who was surrounded by many mistresses did not take care of his wife. Nabo was very pleasing to the queen for his temperament and the attention with which he showered her. According to witnesses of the birth of the queen at the time (the princess of Conti daughter of the king and Saint Simon) the queen a few days before her delivery was very nervous and in one was almost depressed. At the birth, the king's brother noticed a clear resemblance between the child and the servant Nabo, who died suddenly a few days after the queen gave birth.
