Moïse (Hebrew משה בן עמרם Moshe ben Amram, Greek Mωϋσῆς or Μωσῆς, Mō (y) sēs, Latin Moyses, Arabic موسى Moussa) is, according to tradition, the first prophet of Judaism, who is sometimes called "mosaism", this which means "religion of Moses". Moses is probably the most important figure in the Hebrew Bible, receiving the Law for Judaism, foreshadowing Jesus Christ for Christianity, and preceding the Prophet Muhammad for Islam.
Freud also came to the conclusion that the very name of "Moses" was of Egyptian origin.
