Lhe grandfather of Ramses II, Ramses I, was only a tank officer descending from freed foreigners from the Delta (…) co-opted by Horemheb to succeed him on the throne of Egypt. Seti I, his son, had to marry a princess of royal blood to legitimize his power; and to be accepted by the people, very early associated with power Ramses II who embodied legitimacy through his mother. Sethi I and Ramses II officially represent this Fulani type.
