Le Mende is a language spoken in Sierra Leone by a large part of the population, in Liberia and by a minority in Guinea-conakry. In 1921, Kisimi Kamara invents the mende, called Kikakui. This writing is quite close to the VAI writing but reads from right to left. According to legend, this writing was inspired by ancient pictographs and a secret writing to transcribe Arabic in the Hodh region of Mauritania.
This writing is syllabic and includes 195 characters.
