Zecharia Sitchin is the author of numerous books in which he exposes his controversial theory based on the translations he would have made of cuneiform tablets from the pre-Babylonian era on the origin of humanity, the creation of which he attributes to the Annunaki, deities Sumerians, which he presents as extraterrestrials who, having come to Earth during Prehistory, would have been deified by the first men. Mesopotamia would have been the first land colony of these visitors from space.
The Annunaki would have created homo sapiens by crossing their own genes with those of homo erectus, to then use it as a slave to the extraction of raw materials, which would have been necessary to protect the atmosphere then in danger of their own planet: Nibiru. We can already notice that, man sharing more than 98% of genes with the chimpanzee, he certainly shares much more with homo erectus; we can therefore wonder where are these famous genes in our heritage. However, we are talking about tens of thousands of genes for the human genome. Thus, the differentiation between man and monkey, even if it is only expressed on a small percentage, is still represented by thousands of genes. It can then be understood that even with finally few different genes in percentage, the resulting phenotypes can shape a very different species. This leaves a window of credibility for his thesis in the current state of knowledge, without however supporting it.
