Lhe Ivory Coast has around 600 Betes. Their language is not taught at school, where we learn French. In the 000s, Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, from this people, decided to invent a writing based on his language. To create his alphabet, he extracts 1950 monosyllabic words from the Bété language and represents them in the form of pictograms.
