OWe could not say of them that they rub shoulders with the Angels and the celestial deities because they are often in the clouds. Not by dreams but because the sky is their "place" of work. These black women, crisscrossing the vault of heaven, transport us here and there on the globe with a knowledge and a mastery that has nothing to envy to men. They are captains, second in command, solo pilot on fighter plane or helicopter, they conquered the blue sky. Irene Koki Mutungi
She is the first female captain. Flight captain on a commercial civilian transport aircraft in Africa. Commander Irene Koki Mutungi flies a Boeing 737-300 for Kenya Airways. " I started flying in 1993 During my first flying lessons. I remember flying with my dad to London when I was eight and I sat with him in the cockpit the entire way. Since then I knew this was what I wanted to do". She is called the "Boeing Girl" because she enjoys flying the Boeing 760s and 750s and has basically been trained on Boeing her entire life.
