Lhe pre-Columbian connections with Pharaonic Egypt are proven: Among this evidence are: in the Nile delta hundreds (at least) of ancient mummies with residue of cocaine, extracted from coca that was never cultivated outside of South America; a North American corn depicted on the walls of an 18th Dynasty tomb in the upper Nile valley; the discovery in the early 1930s of a temple dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Isis in Tennessee, with the very name of the state translating perfectly into "the country" (tenne) of Isis (in Greek, after the Egyptian original, esse); the perfectly preserved statuette of another Egyptian goddess, Bast, found on Marco Island, off Florida and now in the possession of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, etc.
What is perhaps the most significant contribution to the body of evidence to date was discovered on March 28, 2014. According to the Before It's News site, “a [British] team of under- Sailors who were studying an ancient wreck of unknown origin near the eastern coast of the Bahamas discovered a large stone statue whose shape and style resembles the Egyptian Great Sphinx… The base of the statue appears to have carried an inscription, but the erosion made it impossible to decipher or identify without further examination.
