Dn the Mandingo Empire (located throughout West Africa), he had very valuable and respected figures in society. Beyond the power of the king and the wizards, one thus distinguished those which one called the journalists of Africa to know the GRIOTS. From generation to generation, griots passed on the secrets of their fascinating art from father to son. At the time, we speak of more than 500 years, the griots distilled the messages of the village chief, the king, from village to village using their instruments, the most used being the TAMA:
This small drum that is hung on the shoulder gives high-pitched sounds using a small stick. The Griots therefore traveled from village to village with this instrument and announced weddings, harvest or mourning festivals, births, initiation ceremonies and many other events marking life in the Mandingo Empire.

Painted Djembe drum - Bongo drum from West Africa (Height: 30cm)
- 30 cm djembe with a large pattern (very good for children between 3 and 6 years old, or as a travel djembe for festivals etc.) from our own brand Ciffre which has been produced under fair trade conditions.
- The dimensions of the djembe are approximately 30cm x 13-15cm x 18cm (height x playing surface x diameter) - weight: approximately 0,800-1 kg. Our drums are covered with goatskin and have a good sound. The body of the djembe is made of mahogany wood from sustainable plantations.
- Since the raw materials mentioned above are natural products and our bongos are produced by small workshops under the simplest conditions, slight color deviations of the wood/skin as well as natural irregularities and slight color differences are unavoidable and therefore no reason to complain. This product is not a mass-produced industrial product and wood is not plastic.
- Versatile musical instrument for preschool/kindergarten children. This can be used, for example, for early music education. Basic musical experiences are acquired through intensive sensory training (hearing, seeing, feeling) and managing sounds, noises and tones.
