Por Clément Uwajeneza, the Rwandan administration is only anticipating the digital revolution so as not to avoir to the upload in the next ten years. With his company RwandaOnline, he was mandated in 2014 by the government led by Paul Kagamé to digitize all of the state's public services by creating Irembo. An e-government service that can reduce the gap between the 11,8 million Rwandan citizens and the administration, in a few clicks.
"In the Kinyarwanda language, Irembo means gate or gate, says Clement Uwajeneza. We have made direct and permanent access possible between Rwandan citizens and all local and national administrations. Rwandans can, for example, renew their passport, ask a new identity card, to get a copy of their criminal record, a marriage certificate… The growth is exponential: nearly 2000 Rwandans consulted their documents online last week. They were less than thirty three months ago ”.
