Fin 2014, a new political movement emerged in the USA. This movement is only in its infancy. It is too early to predict how fast it will develop or what the ruling class will do to try to stop it. But this movement has already awakened a new generation to the struggle. And, it did so on a firmer basis of class solidarity than the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011.
This movement arose in the United States last summer in response to racist killings of African Americans by the police. On December 13, hundreds of thousands of people, mostly young, white, black and brown took to the streets of 200 towns and cities across the country, blocking traffic and doing “die-ins” to say no to police impunity. In general, the mass of protesters followed the lead of African American organizations and individuals, who set the tone for these protests.
