DDerived from ancestral practices of body maintenance and well-being methods, reflexology reappeared in the 20th century. It consists of using the fact that every stimulus is followed by an organic response. By exerting pressure on certain zones or reflex points of the face, the whole body, the feet, we remove energy blockages, relieves pain and promotes a good energy balance in the whole body. By rebalancing the YIN and YANG energy flows which animate the human being, the organism can regain its proper functioning.
Reflexology is an unconventional medical discipline, massage type. It can be plantar, facial, auricular, palmar or integral.
The Incas, a very ancient civilization in Peru, dating back more than 14 years, would have transmitted to the Indians of North America, who still practice today, this type of therapy. Foot massage is considered a sacred art.
It has been proven that some primitive African tribes also had a long experience in this area. In India, very old engraved plates have been found showing the correspondence between the soles of the feet and the internal organs.
Reflexology existed over 4 years ago in Egypt as evidenced by an engraving found at Saqqara in an Egyptian burial of doctors. The discovery of a mural dating from 500 to 2500 BC represents four people including two therapists providing massages to each of the other two people. One of the patient's hands indicates to the practitioner the painful area to be massaged. The signs above the stage have been deciphered at the Museum of London. “Please don't hurt me,” the patient said. “I will do my best to help you,” the therapist replies. This scene is quite representative of the application of reflexology.
Integral reflexology was practiced in Tibet and parts of the East several thousand years ago. In China, doctor Wang-Wei from the 4th century BC used acupuncture and reflexotherapy together. In the West, one of the first works on the subject was published in 1582 by two European doctors, famous in their time, Doctors Adamus and Atatis.
How atrial reflexology works
Ear reflexology is a reflexology by the ear. It is a technique which consists in using the pinna of the ear for therapeutic purposes by stimulating points or reflex zones.
Atrial reflexology uses reflex voices, that is to say that the stimulation of a point acts, by reflex voice, through the nervous system, on the corresponding organ. It should be noted that the auriculo-reflexology points are only detected when the corresponding organs are in pain.
Using an ear topography, the naturopath looks for painful areas to stimulate them (material used: metal stylus).
Auricular reflexology offers specific protocols to fight against pain (rheumatic problems, acute inflammatory manifestations), addictions (tobacco, coffee, etc.) and stress (nervous and psychological disorders).
