Amagic tree, hospital tree, palaver tree, from its 25m high, the baobab tree is a symbol of Africa… Legend has it that a deity, under the influence of anger, uprooted one and had it replanted upside down, hence its branches similar to roots, devoid of leaves 9 months of the year. The tenderness of its spongy bark, its incredible resistance to drought and its longevity (more than 1000 years!) Make it a very singular tree. Omnipresent in the traditional African pharmacopoeia, we use all its parts: the leaves, the bark or pulp of the fruit, the famous “monkey bread”.
Baobab: its rare and precious oil.
The vegetable oil from the seeds of the baobab is a pure cosmetic wonder. This rare oil is very precious because a tree gives on average only 1 liter of oil a year! Its price is relatively high: not less than 100 € per liter for a quality product.
